Hussain Sajwani is the founder of DAMAC properties which is a global property development company. The UAE national is also the Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. He founded the company in 2002 to take advantage of the real estate industry that was expected to boom; after the government allowed foreigners to own property in the country. The company has over the years emerged to be one of the leading development companies currently operating in the Middle East.
Mr. Sajwani holds two bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington. One in Economics and the other on in Industrial Engineering. Immediately after graduation he joined GASCO where he served as the company’s Contracts Manager in UAE. After a year, he quitted his job and embarked on establishing his own firm and as a result founded the company in 2002. The business started as a food catering company. In the 1990’s the the company supplied the US soldiers in the Operation Desert Storm with food. The food catering business stills exists.
Hussain Sajwani family led his company into the real estate industry in 2002. Since then, they have developed numerous developments including stylish villas and apartments which are sold mainly to foreigners living and doing business in UAE.
The Damac owner is a close friend to Donald Trump. The Sajwani family share business relationships with President Donald Trumps’ family. In 2013, Hussain Sajwani’s company joined hands with Donald Trumps’ Trump Organization and developed two golf courses that are branded with Trumps’ name. The Trump International Golf Course Dubai based in the Akoya residential development owned by the company is the first golf course. The second one is the Trump World Golf Course that is to be opened in another property owned by the company in 2018.
Hussain is a family man, he lives with his wife and children in Dubai. The UAE billionaire is a philanthropist and has donated money among other resources to charities and organizations set to help the needy in the community. He advices the younger generation to be innovative in order to find their career paths. He also assisted his government in providing clothes to at least 50,000 needy children.
