ClassDojo, a free communication app used by teachers and parents, is helping kids get a better grip on life. The app is geared towards helping these young students how to manage their emotions and it could be the most instrumental tool in decades.
Most parents believe that their kids need tools that can help them manage their emotions, but it’s not always easy to find those tools. A very small percentage of parents have their children enrolled in schools that are equipped to coach them on managing their emotions.
Surveys conducted by the app ClassDojo provide this feedback. More than 1,000 families have participated in this survey, along with several hundred teachers. One of the most beneficial features of the app is that it helps parents follow along with what teachers are doing in the classroom.
Each professional will have the ability to create profiles for students, so that their information and progress can be recorded. Points can be awarded according to the behaviors of the students whether they are positive or negative.
This is one of the primary reasons that ClassDojo is using mindfulness training to help students achieve a state of calm. Additionally, although they will learn ways of managing stress, they will also be encouraged to help others, as well as earn points based upon being respectful or disrespectful.
Mindfulness training is the core of how ClassDojo works, and it’s changing student’s lives.
